In addition to quick assembly, there is no wind resistance, no increase in consumption, or disturbing external noise.
The device is homologated as a fully independent accessory to a motor vehicle and therefore does not need to be registered in the vehicle's TP. There are more advantages compared to a roof box. In principle, however, it is about the comfort offered, whether it is easy access to luggage, or a more refined ride without disturbing sounds from the outside. The position of the box to the leeward side of the moving vehicle does not affect the consumption of the vehicle, which is likely to be appreciated by every driver, but most definitely vacationers on longer routes. The additional fuel consumption measured on a Volkswagen Touran TDI model was only 6% with the TowBox, while the roof box increased consumption by 18%. The TowBox significantly reduces the additional fuel consumption compared to the roof box, by up to 3 times(!)
The Volvo C40 Recharge electric car was driven over the same route with three different combinations. While with the tow box installed the consumption was 19.9 kWh/100 km, with the roof box it was up to 24.1 kWh, which is 22% more.
