The MacRideᵀᴹ unique saddle curved seat keeps Bums secure
Saddle shaped seat provides more stable position. The saddle cups your child´s bum and keeps him secure over the rougher terrain - NO shifting forward!
The saddle is positioned lowest compared to other child bike seats, which allows for more clearance between the parent´s chin and child’s helmet. While it offer more room for growth, it also benefit the shorter persons to ride more comfortably without hitting the chin

Mid-mounted bike seat
Our kids bike seats are mid-mounted because that’s where bikes were designed to hold weight. The weight of the child in the seat is distributed over the center of gravity of the bike , which offers a more comfortable and confident feeling when maneuvering the bike while riding with a child.
Added comfort
We believe that seats mounted forward on the handlebar frame transfer the child's entire weight to the front wheel, which means that the bike is more difficult to maneuver, with uneven terrain being transmitted directly through the front axle of the bike to its handlebars and then to the child sitting in it. And most importantly, they are not safe if you need to stop quickly.
Low position of seat
Unlike the copycats, every Mac Ride seat sits as low as possible (without touching that beauty frame) so you can actually see over your kiddo’s helmeted head.

- Adult riders must be experienced cyclists with the common sense and who are able to communicate clearly with your child
- Child Mac Riders are recommended to be 2 years old and must have the strength in their neck to easily hold up and control their head with a helmet on.
- It is important that child is able to hold the handlebars securely, concentrate and adhere to safety information from a rider.
RECOMMENDED AGE & SIZE
- Mac Ride is designed for children aged 2 to 5
- Choosing the right age to start your youngster on Mac Ride is family dependent. There are many 18-20 month olds strong enough and ready for Mac Ride - they love having their helmet on, they are strong climbers, good listeners and really keen to ride with mom and dad. Just make sure your family has the abilities and strong communication skills listed above.
MY CHILD IS 2 BUT SMALL FOR THEIR AGE, CAN I STILL USE MAC RIDE?
The most important indicators for determining if your child is ready for Mac Ride are listed above (strength, listening skills, teamwork etc). If you are still interested in examining fit with leg length etc, here are some Mac Ride dimensions:
- When the saddle is adjusted forward (for small children), the distance down to the footrests when the stirrups are in their shortest position is 23cm
- When the saddle is adjusted backward (for larger children), the distance down to the footrests when they are in their longest position is 32cm.
- Mac Ride’s unique design includes an unobtrusive saddle and strong stirrups. Mac Ride does not use a cumbersome mould, shoulder straps or harnesses because a child strapped to a moulded seat absorbs the shakes and rattles of a moving bike.
- Only with Mac Ride can your child stand up on the stirrups, sharing the handlebars with you to help guide toward the right path or the line off an upcoming curb. Your child learns to absorb the bumps in the path by bending legs and arms, just as you do.
- If you are unfamiliar with removing the stem and spacers please consult your local bike shop for assistance. Always check with a professional bike mechanic if you are not 100% confident during installation.
Before you show them the world from the saddle, your child should be able to respond to verbal cues. An absolute experience awaits, but “Hands on the handlebars!” isn’t a request, it’s a requirement.
Start easy and go slow. Going trails that you would take solo, is not the best idea. Stick close to home in case your child get tired. And don’t forget the good snacks.
Remember that you’re pedaling, but your kids aren’t - so, while you heat up, they don’t. Bundle them up in layers and always wear your helmets, with the chin straps nice and snug.
Before every ride, do the Toe-Turn Test. With your child in the seat and front shocks bottomed out, turn your handlebars 90º to ensure their toes clear the front wheel when turning.
